How to Be Happy In Life

I love my Work and Life Balance subscribers... they are wonderful people.
(If you're not already subscribed, go to
http://www.life-balance-success.com/freebalancetips.html ). I hear from many of these readers, who write either to compliment me, comment on something I've written, share about their lives or to ask me questions.

I am humbled beyond belief to hear from them... and amazed to think that they believe I may know the answers for their lives.

One of my subscribers just wrote me, expressing how much worry he carries about aspects of his life, his job, his relationship and the security of his future. His request of me was to answer his question, "Please tell me how to be happy in life."

Goodness! Here's what I said to him, and now you...

... Carolyn's profoundly simple answer on how to be happy in life...

"How I wish I had the magical answer to your life… and how I wish I had it for my own life, too!

Your language gives clues that you are living in the past and in fear of the future… so much so that you are undermining today. The most profound tip that I can offer you (that I am doing my best to practice myself) is to live in this very NOW moment.

This means working diligently to let those worrisome thoughts and feelings go (like in the messages I’ve already sent you) and be here and now in this moment. Yesterday is in the past and tomorrow will always be "out there" ahead in time. NOW is the only moment there really is... and it's usually a pretty decent place to hang out, when noticed.

How to come into the NOW?
  • Meditation helps

  • Yoga helps
  • Physical fitness helps
  • Releasing fears and focussing on joy helps

  • Focus on the good!!!

  • See the beauty surrounding you.

This is the best wisdom I can offer you… how you will use it is up to you.

Personally, I hope you choose happiness!"

P.S. Pick up a copy of the incredible book, "The Power of NOW" by Eckhard Tolle... it will definitely help!

Warmly, Carolyn

Fitness Is More Than Physical!

I am hanging out with women of all ages, health conditions and sizes at my local Curves fitness club these days and am SO inspired with their stamina and stories of success!!

Most of these ladies are in the 50 - 70 year old bracket, since many of my community members are retired seniors. Their faithful commitment to their three workouts each week are giving them a long list of health improvements, including;

  • increased joint flexibility
  • expanded cardiovascular ability

  • muscle tone and strength

  • improved stretch and flexibility
In addition to these payoffs, these ladies feel that they belong to a fun and friendly community of fitness friends where they can be themselves, no matter their size or condition... receiving incredible support from each other.

I love to watch them as they work through and complete their workouts. Their faces and comments tell me that they leave with a sense of pride in themselves for keeping a commitment to their individual self-care.

Fitness is MUCH MORE than just the physical component! These ladies are gifting themselves with "feel good" attitudes towards themselves, a place to belong, be inspired by others... WHILE they get the physical benefits, too.

I am fortunate to be a part of this Curves companionship... working hard myself and gradually feeling the payoffs, too. You know what... this is making going through the temptations of Christmas much easier.

If you are a woman and haven't checked Curves out, it has a LOT to offer.

Warmly, Carolyn

Carolyn's Commitment to Curves

So, as the year soon winds down, I am already laying "Vision Goals" for my coming New Year! Here's what I am aligning with in excitement...

... a happy and serious commitment with the #1 fitness organization in the world...

... CURVES for women!!!

Curves is a facility, designed for women, specializing in their highly successful 30-minute workouts. Circuit training is an exercise routine that combines cardio and strength training using hydraulic resistance equipment. This type of resistance is similar to aquatics and becomes a function of speed. The faster your movement, the more resistance you will create.

Research shows that if you are strength training while losing weight, your body will first use its stored fat for fuel. The Curves Workout raises metabolism during a weight-loss program by increasing muscle mass. Strength training's ability to raise the metabolism is the secret to permanent results.

So, here's my my plan!
After sitting for an entire year at the computer writing my "Becoming the BEST YOU Possible" eBook (and suffering a "soft body" as a result), I've begun taking my "curvy" self to our local Curves club to get more fit and trim through committed workouts. I am about to get started in their 6-week Weight Loss Program shortly, too, applying their great dietary suggestions for a trimmer me.
If you want to learn more about Curves, check out their great website... www.curves.com

I'm stoked!! As I converse with the other ladies and hear of their amazing successes, I am truly inspired... and many of them are quite a bit older than me. I estimate that by the end of February, I will have much more tone to my figure, strength in my muscles, more wind in my lungs AND be ten pounds lighter! Teeny bikini by summer, that's my goal! : )

If you know me, I'm not into setting New Years resolutions, but I AM into setting Vision Goals for myself, which are much more inspiring to stay aligned with, than the "resolution shoulds" that inevitably get broken!

Have you considered how you might launch your New Year? This is the PERFECT time to start considering!
